The cardiovascular system is one of the largest and most important bodily system. It is responsible for transporting oxygen and nutrients to our cells and tissues in order to keep us healthy. In the average lifespan, the heart will pump over 100000 million gallons of blood, so it is critical to keep the heart strong and healthy. Some risk factors that contribute cardiovascular disease (CVD) are smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, physical inactivity and high blood pressure. Avoidance of these factors, combined with regular aerobic activity and proper nutrition creates and sound plan for the prevention of CVD.
